Chicanná
The Mayan walk was always a path of knowledge and respect. A place where his worldview encompassed every being.
The Puuc route is an example of this way of thinking. They are archaeological sites that have impressive flora and fauna. Apart from that it preserves one of the most beautiful jaguar warrior facades in the Mayan world and the art style of the Río Be.
In Structure II you can see a jaguar warrior with an open mouth welcoming you. On its walls you can see glyphs and remains of red and yellow paint that were used for decoration. A true work that will amaze anyone.
The name Chicanná means “The House of the Serpent's Mouth” and it is believed that the use of this area was exclusive to regional lords and elites. That is why you can appreciate the detail and beauty of the carvings on the walls.
